Possible leak of 2013-14 strips

30/05/2013 | Comments (58)
A realistic-looking screenshot, purportedly from the Kitbag website, showing Everton's 2013-14 home and away kits is circulating on Twitter.

The images show an elegant blue home jersey with limited white detail on the shoulders and on the neck and another black change strip but this time with heavier blue trim.

The designs first emerged superimposed over a photograph of Goodison Park; similar mockups that emerged around this time last year proved to be fake and the word is that these, too, are not real.

I like the look of the home kit (obviously not the badge) though the blue does look a bit bright and what colour will the socks be?

I don't like the blue on the away kit.

socks will probably be blue.....lets not forget that if it were up to Nike we would be wearing ALL BLUE (shirts, shorts & socks) as our home kit as from next season

Would like the away with amber not blue. Would have a third pink kit, and go for lady/pink pound.

The badge doesn't look as bad as what I thought it would on the shirt. I wouldn't want it on the side of the stadium though!!

I think the badge looks ok.

Well...I mean it'll be fine with me if it's that size

(anymore than 2 millimeters though...).

The badge, while still awful, looks MUCH better without the yellow border. If they can keep the yellow off it, it would be just about tolerable for a year.

For what it's worth, the word is these are faked kits but provide a talking point and possible comparison with the actual one when it's released.

Like them both - I think I'll be buying them. I didn't bother this season, but I reckon that badge will be a collectors item to hand down to the Grandkids.

Nike aren't living up to expectation all the gear is basic and boring, Umbro were by far the best kit maker for me in design and quality.

It's interesting that the club crest, whichever one it is, occupies approximately 25% of the space on the shirt to that taken by the horrendous Chang thing. Yet I don't remember much protest about the elephant crest, which would deter me from buying any official merchandise.
It's just an observation. The new badge is still an abomination. But so is the elephant.

Why not amber as a second with white as a third? This season's white was excellent. Black has never been our colour – apart from briefly being known as the Black Watch. I think it was late 20s/early 30s.

Come on lads that's what they want"

the badge looks ok,they've got used to it now lets not change next year,it's all blown over, these c**ts don't know what they like"

I wonder who leaked it?

It needs stopping!!!

Peter, the Change stuff is somebody external sponsoring us. It's transitory. A few years from now we'll have forgotten the elephants though they might not have forgotten us. I know it's bigger but sometimes more is less.
Jon Ferguson

I'm not normally fanatical about these things, but I won't be buying a kit until our real badge is back on the shirt.

Peter 268 - is right. If shirt sales don't drop they'll find a way of keeping the badge permenantley.

When will the actual new kits be released? Norwich and others wore theirs on the final day of the season, the shite are advertising theirs, how come we always seem to take longer? It can't be Nike's fault, it was the same with Le Coq and Puma!
Peter Truin

Paul 301

Can you imagine if they'd worn the new kit last game of the season.....they know they couldn't put that shit on the shirts cos everyone would be saying "what the fuck is that?"

But then if they'd had the new kit with the proper badge they wouldn't be able to kid us that all the merchandise has been made now so we'll have to review it next year

We need to pressure them to renew the current crest on the new kit and fuck that other mess into history

Nice kits, especially the blue one.

John 225, I can't agree on the 'quality' of the Umbro kits, I remember the 94-95 kit (the NEC one replaced by 'danka' for the cup final) had a little shield at the bottom of the v-neck collar which started off as a nice detail but after a few washes and a bit of argy bargy ended up hanging on by a thread.. Anyone have the same experience?

Never been a shirt wearer myself but

I remember the 1999-2000 kit

My 3 kids kits being recalled because the laddered side on them went funny after a wash

Fair enough they were replaced no problem can't complain, always liked the umbra kits myself

Sounded controversial this time last year, but I think the white hoop on the sleeve this year was sound.

If this is the new kit, it's very simplistic but not bad in any way (the badge changing back won't change the style of the jersey).

I actually really like that away kit too.

I want white socks. My mate wants a blue version of Man United.

Not sure about the away shirt. Carragher was skittin' about our "Scotland" kit last week on Sky... He's got a point; Walter Smith decked us out in navy blue and many young Evertonians think it's our proper colour.

I see Cardiff had new shorts on their kit but after a fans backlash changed them and are now giving season ticket holders a vote from a choice of 4. So, some clubs can make changes even at a very late stage.....

Navy blue? When was that exactly Harold?

Can only think of Wimbledon years ago and Millwall last season who have changed their shade of blue from Royal to Navy.

Harold #387 - blue version of Man Utd? Blue - White - Black? Are you having a laugh?

Remind him in Europe they do a red version of us.

We should always be

Blue Shirts - White Shorts - White Socks / Stockings

Pure Class.

Can anyone remember the last time we wore our new kit on the final game of the season? Must be more than 10yrs?

My lad has a birthday in June but the kit is never out in time for it, whereas his RS mates (even though they're kids they're still RS to me) have their new kits. Two team city and every year they steal a march.

As I said: Home Royal blue white white
Away: Amber blue amber
Third: White royal blue white.
Even amber socks with blue kit for away games to avoid colour clash.
White boots and ginger wig optional.

Brian (266)

"Everton wanted a unified kit and so, to avoid purchasing a brand new one, they dyed all the various shirts of their players black! A two-inch wide scarlet sash was added and Everton rejoiced in the nickname, The Black Watch - after the famous military regiment.

Other colours were adopted as time passed, until the team settled for Royal Blue for the 1901-02 season"

All I'd add is that I was told years ago by those who were actually around at the time that the sash was "ruby"

What's that white bit on the collar? Could it be Nil Satis...........? The cheeky gits!

I hope the people that said they wouldn't buy this aren't changing their minds – the whole thing is a joke... but if they get their sales then the joke will be on us,.. erm... even moreso.

Karl / Mike. OK lads. Guess I was a bit off the mark with navy blue and I probably owe Mr Smith an apology. One or two of those "kejiani" strips around 2002 could look very dark, especially with a bit of rain

The "one to one" kit around '97 looked pretty spectacular and remains my favourite.

Worst Home Kit ever, in my opinion, was the first Puma one that we wore for 2 seasons ironically, 00/01 & 01/02. Baggy, horrible mess with thick white stripe under the arms.

I have liked all the ones with white socks over the years, especially 82/83, 93-95, 05/06, 07/08, 08/09 and 10/11. All by Umbro except the last one. I kind of miss Umbro you know. Le Coq don't wash up too well and Nike are trying to dictate colours of shorts, the badge etc and £50 for a Shirt is taking the P***..

Bring back Umbro, but more importantly, BRING BACK WHITE SOCKS! :)

Away looks quality, if it were true I would actually pre-order it, which is big for me as I don't usually even get the home until its been reduced...

shite badge though

Just looking at the supposed new kits, and noticing the away kit is black again.I like the look of the new Home strip, and i would personally like the away strip to be in reverse, white with blue insignia. Black just seems so.... well... dull! My favourite away strip is the all blue ensemble, or the all white. But then what do I know about colours! Maybe black is a good away colour... what is our best away colour?? Is black the new black?

Why do we always seem to have a black away kit?

What was wrong with the yellow shirt?

We all sing "and if you know your history" it just seems a pity that the people who make the decisions don't!

Perhaps its got something to do with the officials wearing colours other than black Barry.
Karl Masters
109 Posted 01/06/2013 at 18:08:48
Barry: if you know your history, you will know about the Black Watch kit. Which bit of history should we pick?

I think Amber and yellow only appeared in the late sixties and lasted until around 1982 and we have had white, silver grey, black, pink, salmon pink and navy, as well. Just about everything except red or green.

I guess we all have our favourites and for me anything other than white socks on the Home Kit makes us look like Ipswich, Birmingham, Leicester or Millwall, ie a lacking in a bit of class. White socks is classic Everton for me and many others, but of course other fans won't agree.

We are all irrational fools - we must be, it's the only thing that explains why we do this to ourselves for a litetime and let our hearts rule our heads!

This kit is a blue knock up of FC Twente's kit for this season, they wore the same as us last season... so maybe.....

the collar opens to give white detail, but nowerdays if your going to be one of the cool kids you have to do your top button up ... apparenty.

would love the black away kit without the blue detail and a ruby sash.

I normally just read these forums and don't comment but I decided today to change that, as this covers the new badge and kits in one thread.

first off, I remember when the 1878 and Everton was added to the badge and everybody around was kicking off coz they wanted to keep the traditional badge with the shield and scroll work, as the additions ruined the badge and were unnecessary and to be honest at the time I agreed and to this day I didn't like the badge with the additions. Now, I bet 90% of those who complained about that change are the ones complaining again about changing a badge they didn't like in the first place.

If they kept the current badge and added the scroll work back under the shield, I would be satisfied myself. The reality is the old design, that's about 12 years old or so always looked too busy on the shirt. I'm not a fan of the new badge but I have to say it does look better on the shirt than on its own; it's cleaner than the current one.

As for all the whiners who hate the badge, not buying the shirt, blah blah blah, remember reduced merchandise sales = less cash for the manger the next season which you will also whine about too.

Support the club, buy the shirt and keep what will become a collectors item
