Everton join ranks chasing City's Ibrahim

07/06/2013 | Comments (21)
Everton have joined the growing number of clubs hoping to beat Arsenal to the signature of Manchester City midfielder Abdisalam Ibrahim.

The 22 year-old, apparently likened to Yaya Toure, has spent the past season on loan at Stromsgodset in Norway and, assuming City are looking to sell him, he is in the shop window playing for that country at the U21 European Championship in Israel.

Yes that's right, Man City reserves. I was only joking about it, we need some more steel in midfield and he is young and won't cost a great deal in wages or transfer.

Fellaini to Chelsea for Lukaku and DeBruyne in a straight swap.

Rumours are that Arsenal have tabled their £22 million bid. I found a confusing article stating that Fellaini has a £24 million buyout clause if a Champions League side bids for him, but £22 million if one of the top four bids for him. Does this mean £22 million if an English Champions League side bid for him?

Lukaku apparently stated his intent to stay at Chelsea... I would love him.

If Fellaini does go, it would be a loss, but he is not irreplaceable. I have a hope that, with an extended run in the team, Ross Barkley can start to impose himself on the game... but then we could be in the same situation, struggling to hold on to our top payers if RM doesn't manage to kick us on to the top four.

I would take Lukaku plus cash (£10m) for Fellaini in a heartbeat. He's done enough at West Brom to show he is exactly what we are missing in the final third. Powerful, strong, a perfect foil for Mirallas... plus goals. Lots of them!

Lukaku is a no-go, Chelsea loaned him out to WBA for experience only, and Mourinho has recalled him so obviously rates him... they're new Drogba, I think.

I think a new goalkeeper is needed badly, some of Howard's performances last season cost us, and he doesn't command his area. If we had Martyn last season, we would've got top 4. The thing is, I don't see that many quality keepers coming through.

Do you think Martinez will avoid to peruse interest in Leroy Fer because he was essentially part of "another man's" project? My guess is he will like to be seen doing his own thing.

If Martinez can get Jelavic back to form, that will be as good as new arrival.

I was led to believe that Fer was coming in Jan as Felli was going in Jan. Fer failed the medical so Felli didnt move hence his dip in form after Jan.

Leroy Fer is a big strong lad. Dangerous at set pieces and an intelligent passer of the ball. That said, he is nowhere near the class of Fellaini. Indeed, when his transfer fiasco was taking place several Toffee Web posts arrived from Holland suggesting a weakness in technical ability. If that turns out to be true then I'm not sure Martinez would want him.

Fer's technical ability looks good enough to me, think he would make an excellent addition.

I wonder If Chelsea would swap Lukaku for Anichebe, just a thought.

He's in City's reserves so he can't be brilliant.

Why sign him when we have Ross Barkley?

Strømsgodset is my local club, so I have seen him in every match. Abdi has got bags of potential. The way he transport the ball forward, he remind me a bit of Patrick Vieira. But while he is a good player for us, I believe the premier league is far to early for him. He has only had 10-15 good matches for us yet really.

I seem to be repeating myself (in other threads) but we need to get shut of Jelavic, Anichebe, and Heitinga... and one or two others. Osman needs a wage cut as he would not be playing so much under me.

I am amazed that people think Jelavic will come right. He is a broken man. He cannot even stop falling over for no reason. I like the guy as a person and love what he was.... but it's over. Sling your hook, son.
