Austria Vienna v Everton

First of the pre-season friendlies
The Everton players at the training camp in Austria will form a provisional team play their first friendly match of the pre-season against local league champions, Austria Vienna.

It will represent the fist public game in change for the new Everton manager, Roberto Martinez, and a number of big names from the first team squad he is building for next season will be missing from the Sunday's teamsheet, including Tim Howard, and incoming striker Arouna Kone.

Ross Barkley and the other youngsters comprising the Everton contingent in England's poor Under-20 side also appear to be on extended leave after their fruitless exertions in Turkey last month. Gerard Deulofeu is signed up with the Blues, but apparently also still on his hols for the same reason.

That leaves a number of other youngsters from Everton's U21 ranks who may also get a look-in — the likes of Francisco Junior, Matthew Kennedy, Conor Grant, and Apostollos Vellios, who found himself effectively shut out of any meaningful first-team experience in his second season at Everton.

However, it may be a good opportunity for a first look at Joel Robles in an Everton shirt, as he begins the daunting task of challenging Tim Howard to become the first-choice keeper in place of the increasingly erratic US international.

Kick-off time is at 5pm CET (4pm BST) and you can watch the game via Everton TV (for a small fee).
