Roberto Martinez has confirmed that Leighton Baines will travel with the squad to the United States tomorrow as he expected to recover quickly from a slight hip injury.

The Blues' star left back was omitted from today's friendly against Blackburn but his manager told Sky Sports that it was just a precautionary measure.

"I don't think he's going to be out too long," Martinez said.

"He's going to travel with the team, so if I thought he didn't have a chance to participate in the games in the USA then it wouldn't be right for him to travel.

"At the moment, bearing in mind he recovers quite quickly, it was just a precaution we took with him toady.

"We hope that Leighton can be fully fit very, very soon."

Bryan Oviedo deputised impressively at Ewood Park this afternoon and whether Baines starts against Juventus on Wednesday in San Francisco remains to be seen.

The International Champions Cup kicked off today in Spain where AC Milan beat Valencia 2-1. They will play the winners of the Chelsea vs Inter Milan game, with the losers of the respective games facing off against each other as well.
