Blues head back across the Pond

Everton arrive back in England today following 11 days on tour in the United States for the International Champions Cup as they begin final preparations for the new Premier League season which kicks off in eight days' time.

The Blues faced top-class European opposition in their three games across the Pond and finished sixth in the tournament following narrow defeats to eventual winners Real Madrid and Valencia.

Roberto Martinez was able to give playing time to the bulk of his squad and his experimentation with a back three and different offensive combinations will give him plenty to ponder as he plots his starting XI for the season opener against Norwich.

His line-up for the final pre-season friendly against Real Betis on Sunday is likely to be instructive in that regard, although he will need to check on the fitness of Steven Pienaar. Together with Tony HIbbert, the South African was unavailable for the last two ICC fixtures with a minor injury.

Supporters planning on attending the Betis friendly are advised to buy their ticket early and to make use of the print-at-home facility. Tickets are priced at just £15 for adults and £5 for juniors.

Purchases prior to Sunday can be made online at evertonfc.com/eticketing, by calling 0871 663 1878, visiting the Goodison Park box office or calling into our Liverpool city centre outlets at Everton Two and Ticket Quarter.

All telephone purchasers should collect their tickets prior to matchday if possible and those only able to collect on Sunday are urged to do so no later than 90 minutes before kick-off so as to avoid queues.
