Everton's on-loan striker Conor McAleny was stretchered off after nine minutes of Brentford's game with Walsall this afternoon after suffering a broken leg.

Bees manager Uwe Rosler described it as "very, very nasty. We were all shocked. I was speechless."

Rosler, who brought the Academy graduate to Griffin Park on a season-long loan this summer, continued: “I feel for the lad. He is a very promising player and a very good character.

“We will give him all the support we can and hopefully he will come back soon.”
