Everton U21s went down to a 3-0 defeat to Manchester City U21s today, with all three goals coming in a decisive 10-minute spell in the first half.

Apostolos Vellios and Magaye Gueye made their first appearances for the Blues' second string this season but Alan Stubbs's side were largely overshadowed as Albert Rusnak and Marcos Lopes (2) had the home side well in control by the 30th minute.

Everton: Taudul; Kenny, Pennington, Browning, Garbutt; Junior, Lundstram, Gueye (45' Grant); Hope, Long, Vellios (45' C Duffus).
Subs not used: Springthorpe, Touray, McLaughlin.
