The design by Kenyon Fraser was the anecdotal favourite of the three choices from the outset and it will replace the controversial current badge at the end of this season. Everton announced in May that they would be changing the badge they had revealed to fans at the end of the last season when it was met with a groundswell of opposition to the overall aesthetic and the omission of the club's famous Latin motto, Nil Satis Nisi Optimum.
