Martinez predicts Deulofeu will 'explode'

Roberto Martinez is again predicting big things of Gerard Deulofeu in the New Year, suggesting the Spanish winger will "explode" onto the Premier League scene once he is more settled.

The 19 year-old is on loan from Barcelona for the season has made two League Cup starts and come off the bench with six promising cameos in the Premier League so far this season. But Martinez has reiterated that he doesn't expect to get the best from him until the second half of the campaign.

Deulofeu "has shown great things already," Martinez says. "But for any young player, it takes time to adapt. In the new year he will explode on the league. He has so much talent."
