No change to passing style, says Martinez

Roberto Martinez insists Everton will stick with their new passing style, no matter who they play. Martinez's emphasis on passing across the back and at times painfully slow build-up to retain possession has represented a big change for Everton from their previous style but — despite having games with Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal coming up — there will be no moving away from their new approach.

"For me, it's important that we can play eye to eye against the top four clubs," he told the Liverpool Echo. "It's not good enough to let them take the leading role and simply say we're going to be solid and hard to beat, then we'll take opportunities.

"We're not like that. I want us to be ourselves in any situation against any team and I was pleased we did it in the second half at Crystal Palace."
