Everton land 'talented' Irish teen

Everton have succeeded in bringing in 15 year-old winger Steven Kinsella to the Academy, securing the Irish U17 international ahead of reputed interest from Manchester United, Tottenham and Chelsea.

According to a report in the Irish Examiner, a personal intervention by Roberto Martinez might have helped seal the deal for Everton and the club's Irish scout, Paul Hamilton, was pleased to have reached the end of a long road with a successful conclusion.

“We've been working for two years to get Steven over the line, so everybody at the club is naturally delighted,” he said.
