Lukaku may only miss 3-4 weeks

Everton have confirmed initial reports from Belgium citing Romelu Lukaku's agent that the striker's ankle injury is not as bad as first feared and that he could be back within a month.

Lukaku left Anfield with his ankle in a cast after suffering suspected ankle ligament damage in an awkward collision with Gareth Barry in last night's Merseyside derby and it was feared he would be out for many weeks or months.

Scans on the injury have determined the full extent of the injury and Roberto Martinez is predicting that the 20 year-old will now be out for "a matter of weeks, not months."
