Stubbs appointed to Hibernian post

Alan Stubbs, has been confirmed as Hibernian's new manager.

The 42 year-old, who knows the Scottish Premier League well from the five years he spent as a player with Celtic, leaves his role as Everton U21s manager to take up his first managerial role at Easter Road.

Stubbs could still take his assistant, David Unsworth, with him to the Hibees, creating a third vacancy at Finch Farm following the departure of Alan Irvine to West Bromwich Albion last week, but there were suggestions yesterday that Unsworth would remain with Everton.
