Oviedo out for two to three weeks

Bryan Oviedo is facing a other two to three weeks on the sidelines after scans confirmed he has picked up a minor hamstring injury.

The Costa Rican made only his second Premier League start of the season against Sunderland last Sunday but was withdrawn after 25 minutes when he pulled up holding the back of his thigh in the Blues' 6-2 win.

An assessment at Finch Farm suggests that he will be out for at least two weeks and possibly until the end of the month.

"Bryan Oviedo picked up a hamstring problem that may keep him out of action for two to three weeks, but it's nothing too serious," Roberto Martinez said in his press conference yesterday.

"We hope that he can come back for the Aston Villa game, if not, the Bournemouth game (on 28th November)."

Very pleased to hear he's not too bad but I don't know how on earth they measure these things.

Give him this season to show he can knock the injuries out and use his abilities to the fullest come January or February, we know he got fight in him that helps the team.

Is not every case an individual one Howard? Are they measurable or just an assessment like any other medical condition?

That is not too bad. I actually like Oviedo. A good squad player (when fit). Either at LB or LMF.
