Everton U18s suffered a humbling 8-0 defeat at home to Wolves on Saturday, bringing a stunning end to their eight-game unbeaten run.

The young Blues came into the game as the leaders of the U18 Premier League thanks to an impressive run of results since the start of the season but they were missing the likes of Delial Brewster and were unsettled by changes at the back.

It was only the second league defeat so far this campaign for the U18s who face Liverpool in a mini-derby next weekend.

Everton U18s: O’Loughlin, Yates, Myers, Bainbridge, Lees, Harrington, Donohue, Kiersey, Lavery, Broadhead, Bramall.
Subs: Jones, Mellen, Morris, Holland, Yarney.

It's been a fun weekend of football.

Must be some explanation... this defeat seems very strange.

A very good team all season, then to lose 8-0 at home... did they play a few younger age players in the team? Did they have a couple sent off?

Or (the most likely) did they play Howard in goal as an over-age player?

I guess there was a pitch invasion and the ref added on too much time.

8-0?! What happened to our future golden generation?

I presume Martinez should shoulder the blame.

Apart from Broadhead, Lavery and Donohue, I don't recognise any of the names in the team list. So I guess the this team was loaded with scholars.

Silly kids, results are all important at this level; it is only when you get to play for the seniors that performances are more important than results.

Dave, it was Robles in goal as a warm up for the midweek. It seems your belief, and that of others, in the player is working wonders.

Jim, fair enough, cheap crack at Howard, mostly in jest, but again being honest, it's a long time since I had any belief in Howard; then again, it's Martinez who picks him.
