Everton U21s finished off their season with a 0-0 draw with Chelsea's second string today.

Calum Dyson had the best chance for the Blues when he was put through by Antony Evans but he was denied by a saving tackle by a defender after he had rounded the 'keeper.

Brendan Galloway played the full 90 minutes on his return from an apparent knee injury.

Everton: Hewelt, Connolly, Foulds, Baningime, Galloway, Holgate (Holland 76'), Charsley, Williams, Dyson, Evans, Henen.
Subs: Thornley, Gray, Graham, Lavery.

Well done to the under 21 team this sesaon, it seem's like unsworth is doing a good job.

Can anybody tell me how Foulds and Holgate have performed over the season?

Dull game, very few chances for either team another well drilled defensive performance from them . Galloway was impressive at the heart of the defence , Holgate and Connolly had good games too and Young Matty Foulds who we signed from Bury in December is developing nicely , today as an attacking left back. Currently 3rd in the u 21 league , worst they can finish is 4th which is pretty impressive . Great defensive discipline and strategy from Unsworth all season.

Patrick, Foulds started off in the U18s at centre back alongside another youngster Morgan Feeny , both got "promoted" to the u21s. Foulds has played all the end of season games at left back for the u21s. I've only caught glimpses of him when matches have been televised , like today. He's got a nice style about him , got himself in some good attacking positions today . I think he hasnt long turned 18 and it shows in a long , thin body shape that hopefully will fill out if he's to play at CB .
Holgate has made a few errors which have led to goals this season, but today he had a good game , looked composed and a good partner for Galloway.

Cheers Phil, the future seems to be rosy in the defensive positions.

I would expect two or three to be in the first team squad next season.

As an Everton supporter from Ireland, I have heard that Courtney Duffus is going to declare for us. The reports I have heard about him seem to be very good.

Yeah I read that Patrick, apparently he's now got Irish citizenship and hoping to play for Ireland u 21. He's a big lad, must admit I was taken by surprise when he won the u21 PL Player of the month for March. Think it'll be a short journey for the April award - " There you go Kieran"

I think David Unsworth is doing a great job with the U21's I hope he he kept on when Martinez goes. A lot of the young lads when promoted to train with the first team couldn't wait to go back to be training again with Unsworth. There are some young lads coming through, they will be better with a new manager.

Dave, Unsie will probably be in retirement by the time they get round to firing RM !

This u21 team has done well this year against some expensive ensembles. Like the sound of Unsworth and the job he's doing with these kids. Perhaps he might be promoted under the new regime.

Yeh Phil, I've heard he's looking for a villa in Cyprus!
