Unsettled McGeady alerting former club Celtic

Speculation regarding the future of Aiden McGeady has now made it to Scottish media with a Glasgow newspaper suggesting the Irishman could be about to hand in a transfer request at Everton.

Talk that the winger was unsettled with the Blues first emerged on social media earlier this week but the Glasgow Evening Times, citing rumblings on Merseyside, are reporting that Celtic are monitoring the situation with a return to Parkhead for McGeady a possibility.

The 29-year-old left Celtic for Spartak Moscow in a big-money deal five years ago but Roberto Martinez picked him up for a nominal fee in January last year.

He has yet to make a consistent impact in the Premier League, however, his hopes of holding down a regular first-team place hampered by injury last season and competition from the likes of Aaron Lennon.
