Roberto, Vidic, Mirallas and McCarthy among Sunday stories

The ritual Sunday transfer nonsense has it that Tottenham are after both Kevin Mirallas and James McCarthy — incredibly with Aaron Lennon as part exchange in both deals! — while Everton remain in the frame for Sergi Roberto on loan.

Running the same story as last week, The Mirror are persisting with the narrative that Spurs are looking to exploit McCarthy's reputed "frustration" at not being offered a new deal.

They're also still peddling Mauricio Pochettino's apparent desire to add Kevin Mirallas to his contingent of Belgians but decided to pull a story about Roberto Martinez duking it out with Southampton for Ron Vlaar.

Meanwhile, similarly unreliable rumour mongers in Spain have resurfaced the prospect of Roberto spending 2015-16 at Goodison on loan from Barcelona.

And both the Daily Star and Goal.com claim Everton will move for Nemanja Vidic even though the defender has already reportedly rejected any interest in joining the Blues.
