Any Blues interest in Perisic likely to come too late

Perisic was one of the stars of Croatia's World Cup campaign last summer and one of the more impressive players on show for the Bundesliga side when the Blues beat them in Germany in the Europa League in December.

Inter have pin-pointed him as the man to fill the role that Shaqiri – another supposed Everton target – has failed to fill sufficiently since his move from Bayern Munich a year ago.

The reports hint that Everton could contact Perisic when Wolfsburg visit London for the Emirates Cup later this month to see if they can tempt him to Goodison Park.
