Blues see opportunity in Halilovic

The Liverpool Echo suggest that Roberto Martinez could use his relationship with Barcelona to convince them that Goodison Park would be a good place for the 19-year-old, dubbed by some the "new Modric", to gain valuable experience.

They also posit that Halilovic's compatriot, Slaven Bilic, could provide stiff competition for the budding playmaker if he decides that he could do with him at West Ham.

Halilovic joined Barcelona B a year ago when he was signed from Dinamo Zagreb in his native Croatia and played 30 times last season scoring four goals.
