Schalke end their interest in Shaqiri

Inter Milan are looking to offload the Swiss forward after just one season as they seek to tie up the signing of Ivan Perisic but while they have accepted offers from Stoke City (whom Shaqiri rejected) and Schalke, neither move has come off.

That supposedly leaves Everton to scrap it out with Newcastle for the 23-year-old but there haven't been any reliable indications that Roberto Martinez is even interested in signing him. The talk linking Shaqiri with Goodison appears to have originated entirely in the media.
