Escalating talk of Charlie Austin returning to the Premier League with Everton has prompted bookies to cut the odds dramatically on the striker ending up at Goodison Park before the transfer deadline.

Spreading via social media rather than the media, rumours of Everton agreeing a £13m deal with QPR for Austin have been circulating late this week.

Roberto Martinez is has said he is in the market for a striker this month and Rangers are resigned to losing him to a Premier League side following their relegation back to the Championship.

They are believed to be looking for £15m for a player who fired an impressive 18 goals for QPR last season and the odds have come in to 7/4 that he will join Everton.
