Martinez plots double swoop for Shaqiri and Mori

That's the claim in the Guardian and The Express, who suggest that Roberto Martinez is in the market for Shaqiri but would prefer to bring him in on loan for the season, with a view to signing him permanently next summer.

Inter, who view him as surplus to requirements following a disappointing first season in Serie A, could go for that even if it means delaying the Swiss international's sale for 12 months.

Mori, meanwhile, is a left-footed centre half who, at 24, fits the age and profile of a potential long-term replacement for Sylvain Distin.
