Villarreal rival Everton for Funes Mori

The 24-year-old Argentine has been hotly-tipped to become the Blues' next signing as central-defensive cover after it was reported that the club have met River Plate's £5m valuation but a late bid from Villarreal is now being mooted.

The Liverpool Echo report that the Spanish club have opened negotiations with Funes Mori's representatives in a bid to tempt him to La Liga.
