Everton are being linked with what would seem to be an unlikely move for Danish defender Jannik Vestergaard but face competition from Newcastle and Werder Bremen's unwillingness to sell.

Michael Qureshi of Ekstra Bladet in Denmark is reporting, however, that Bremen have fielded and rejected bids in the region of €8.5m for the 23-year-old but that he expects both clubs to return with improved offers even though the Bundesliga side have no intention of selling him.
