The 27-year-old's contract with Sevilla is up in the summer and a number of clubs are believed to be looking at him, including the Blues who came close to signing him on loan a few years ago under David Moyes.

Banega helped the Spanish club to a second successive Europa League triumph in May after joining from Valencia in last year. Manchester United and Arsenal are said to be interested in the Argentine international but reports are suggesting Everton are close to a deal.
