The Scot, who could also be the subject of renewed interest from Norwich City, has apparently been identified by Remi Garde as a useful acquisition in the Midlanders' bid to beat relegation this season.

Norwich had an £8m bid for Naismith accepted by Everton's board prior to the closure of the summer window but Roberto Martinez eventually insisted on the forward staying at Goodison Park.

The report is echoed in The Mirror and the Birmingham Mail.
