Everton linked again with Marshall move

Marshall emerged as a target for Roberto Martinez in the January 2015 transfer window when Howard sustained a calf injury that would sideline him for 8 weeks.

The American was also the subject of calls to be dropped after his post-World Cup slump and concerns over age catching up with him but despite admissions from Martinez that he was in the market for a long-term successor for him, nothing came of the speculation.

Marshall signed a new four-and-a-half-year contract with Cardiff City shortly after that window closed but was reportedly the subject of serious inquiries from Wet Bromwich Albion over the summer but their interest cooled when quoted £5m for the Scot's services.

Now, with Howard again struggling for form, The Mirror claim Everton will again target Marshall this month.
