That's the claim on The Mirror's website today which doesn't mention a potential fee.

McGeady is believed to be reluctant to drop down from the Premier League but may have to if he wants regular first-team football.

The Irishman has fallen completely out of favour at Everton and has been listed for loan this month alongside Darron Gibson who has reportedly attracted the attention of Blackburn Rovers.

Roberto Martinez confirmed earlier this week that the Blues had received three separate inquiries from clubs looking to loan McGeady for the rest of the season.
