Everton linked with move for Bolton striker

It's not clear how much substance there is the story which appears to be driven at the moment by oddsmakers but the 20-year-old could be available for a modest fee given Bolton Wanderers' crippling financial problems.

The Trotters have had a winding-up order pushed back to next month but, weighed by £172m in debts and a transfer embargo they face an uncertain future unless they can raise short-term funds through asset sales.

Clough has scored eight goals in 20 games over the past couple of seasons for Bolton.

The Blues have also been linked with a £13.75m swoop for Fulham forward Ross McCormack but the reliability of that source, Eye Football (who claim that Roberto Martinez has been in "regular contact" with the Cottagers over the player) is not known.
