The weekly speculation about John Stones reaches new depths with a claim in the Sunday People that Manchester City will try to lure John Stones away from Everton using a trifecta of players worth £75 million in return.

City have have supposedly put together a proposal involving three of their current first-team squad — striker Wilfried Bony, winger Jesus Navas and centre-half Eliaquim Mangala — who cost Sheikh Mansour a collective £75m.

The hope is that this will help Roberto Martinez fill significant holes in the Toffees' squad, and make it easier for Everton to release their brilliant young England defender.
