The Liverpool Echo say Roberto Martinez sent a scout to and watch him in action in the recent top-of-the-table clash with PSV Eindhoven.

The international has 24 caps for the Netherlands and was between the sticks for most of their 2014 World Cup campaign in Brazil. He could cost upwards of £10m.

The same Echo report suggests Everton are also monitoring Burnley's Tom Heaton as they look for a replacement for MLS-bound Tim Howard.
