Flores on Everton shortlist

After running a story linking Mark Hughes with the post a fortnight ago, they would now have you believe that Flores's representatives have been sounded out by the Blues as a potential replacement for Roberto Martinez.

Flores made a splash at the beginning of the season when the newly-promoted Hornets made an impressive start to the campaign but they have fallen away in recent months and, like Everton, were eliminated from the FA Cup at the semi-final stage.

Ronald Koeman's name has also been bandied around in the last 24 hours as he prepares to hold talks over a new contract at Southampton.
