Everton vie with Man United for 'super scout'

The Mirror claim that Everton have approached Macia, credited with recruiting the likes of Fernando Torres and Javier Mascherano at Liverpool and spotting Raheem Sterling, about coming on board as they look to overhaul their coaching and recruitment set-up at Finch Farm.

Farhad Moshiri is believed to be eyeing a sporting director at the club and, according to The Mirror's John Cross, he sees Macia as part of the new team.

Macia is available, however, after he was released by Real Betis after completing just one season of a four-year contract.
