Koeman lines up Krul and Witsel

Ronald Koeman's first act as Everton boss could be to bring in Tim Krul and Belgian international midfielder Axel Witsel, according to reports.

The Guardian's Andy Hunter and The Express's Paul Joyce, two of the more connect journalists to Goodison Park, both claim that the new Blues manager could offer his compatriot Krul an immediate path back to the Premier League following Newcastle's relegation to the Championship last month.

Krul, 28, who missed the last part of the 2015-16 season through injury, has 12 months left on his current contract and that means he could be available for a cut-price fee this summer.

Witsel, meanwhile, also has a year left on his deal with Zenit St Petersburg and is believed to be eyeing a move to the Premier League where the bulk of his countrymen ply their trade but the fee is a lot higher where is concerned, with Hunter suggesting it would take a massive £30m to land the 27-year-old midfielder.

Meanwhile, The Mirror say that Koeman is keeping an eye on 30-year-old Cameroon midfielder Eyong Enoh, who has one more year left on his current deal at Standard Liege, and could try and bring Irish striker Shane Long with him to Goodison Park.
