The Liverpool Echo claim that the club are considering a summer move for the Roma midfielder who could command as high a fee as £30m.

Strootman is one of Europe's most highly-regarded midfield players but his career has been hugely disrupted to date by serious injury.

Three separate surgeries to correct an anterior cruciate knee ligament injury have restricted the 26-year-old to just six starts over the past two seasons. As such, he would represent a big gamble, particularly at the fee mentioned.
