Martinez holding out for £10m payout?

19/06/2016  0 Comment  [Jump to last]
Everton and Roberto Martinez are heading for an independent hearing after failing to to agree on a compensation package following the ex-manager's sacking last month.

MailOnline claim that Martinez is looking to have the final three years of his £3.5m-per-year contract paid in full but Everton are still looking for a compromise.

The Catalan, dismissed by the Blues at the end of a second successive season of under-performance, is currently in France working as a studio analyst for ESPN's coverage of Euro2016 but reportedly held talks with Anderlecht over their managerial position.

The Belgian giants eventually appointed Rene Weiler instead, with Belgian media sources suggesting that Martinez would have been too expensive an option.
