Everton are being linked again with Georginio Wijnaldum who could be looking for an immediate route back to the Premier League following Newcastle United's relegation in May.

Speculation that the Blues could move for the Dutchman first emerged as an almost inevitable result of his compatriot Ronald Koeman's arrival as Goodison Park as Roberto Martinez's replacement but these fresh reports in the English media would have you believe the new boss is keen.

Everton were linked with the attacking midfielder last year but Martinez ultimately wasn't interested in him before Steve McClaren swooped in for £15m.

A year on, with domestic transfer valuations sky-rocketing Wijnaldum's price is being quoted as high as £25m after he scored 11 goals in Newcastle's ultimately doomed 2015-16 season, but Sky Sports claim that the Blues' "transfer committee" has made him one of their top targets for the summer.
