Sky Sports claim that based on their information, the Champions have rejected an approach by the Blues for their their head of recruitment and assistant manager.

Everton want Walsh to become their first Director of Football and hope that new major shareholder Farhad Moshiri's vision, the opportunity to fulfill a brand new role, and the chance to be closer to his family on Merseyside will help tempt Walsh to Goodison this summer.

While there has been no official word from either club, Walsh is reportedly interested in talking with Everton about the opportunity, while other sources are suggesting that a deal with the 63-year-old is close.
