Everton set to sign ArnautoviÄ‡

Everton could be close to a deal with Stoke City for Marko Arnautović according to reports in both the Austrian international's homeland and in England.

Sky Sport Austria claim that the attacking left-midfielder's transfer has been arranged and the 27-year-old has already put pen to paper on a four-year deal but the Daily Mail suggest that talks are ongoing regarding the player's wage demands.

While Sky Austria say the €15m (£12.5m) deal is pending final announcement by the two clubs, supposedly tomorrow (Tuesday), the player himself is currently in Orlando with Stoke on their pre-season tour and the Mail's report says that the Blues are trying to negotiate Arnautović's salary request down from £80,000 a week.

Arnautović, who is entering the final year of his contract at the Britannia Stadium and whose escape clause apparently expires on 1st August, is widely expected to move on after establishing his reputation as one of the Potters' outstanding players over the past couple of seasons.
