Chelsea up bid for Lukaku

Chelsea are "confident" of re-signing Romelu Lukaku according to reports, with papers at home and in Italy suggesting they have raised their bid closer to Everton's reputed £75m asking price.

Reports in some of the English tabloids suggest that the Londoners have upped their bid for the Belgian to £60m while Gazzeta dello Sport say it's as high as £68m.

If the latest reports are to be believed, Antonio Conte has made signing Lukaku a priority even though he has already drafted in the striker's compatriot, Michy Batshuayi for £33m.

Everton are hopeful of persuading Lukaku to remain at Goodison Park with a significantly improved contract.
