Interest growing in striker Niasse

According to a report, Oumar Niasse has emerged as a target for a clutch of teams after he was deemed surplus to Ronald Koeman's requirements at Everton.

The 26-year-old appeared destined for Galatasaray a few days ago amid reports in Turkey that a loan deal with an option to buy him outright next summer had been agreed between the two clubs.

That move appears to have collapsed but two more Turkish clubs in the form Besiktas and Fenerbahce are now mentioned by Sky Sports "sources" as being interested in Niasse, as well as Sporting in Portugal and Hamburg in Germany.

Niasse was signed to much fanfare by Roberto Martinez on transfer deadline day in February this year but has managed just 153 minutes of football. He was omitted from the first-team squad list yesterday and not assigned a number, indicating that he will be looking for a new club between now and the closure of this summer's transfer window.
