Newcastle eye Galloway loan deal

The Spaniard is biding to return to the Premier League at the first attempt having failed to prevent Newcastle's relegation in May and he sees Galloway as an ideal option to bolster his defence.

Primarily a centre half, Galloway was impressive in a left-back role for the Blues in the early part of last season when he deputised for the injured Leighton Baines.

He is unlikely to be a first-choice starter this season and a temporary move to the Championship could appeal.

The Sunday Mirror claim Benitez is "waiting on an answer from Ronald Koeman" regarding the 20-year-old.
