Talk of Joe Hart joining Everton, either on loan or in a permanent deal, has heated up today, fuelled by a report from Sky Sports that the England international will almost certainly be leaving Manchester City this month.

The 29-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium following the arrival of Pep Guardiola who is close to signing Claudio Bravo from his former club, Barcelona.

Willy Caballero was preferred to Hart in goal in both Saturday's Premier League opener and City's Champions League qualifier against Steaua Bucharest this evening, sending a clear signal to the Englishman that he is no longer first choice.

Everton have been linked with Hart this summer and those suggestions have gained strength this week despite serious reported interest from Sevilla.

Sky's northwest correspondent, Vinny O'Connor, says that there has been no formal contact yet from Goodison Park but suggests that Hart's preference would be to stay in the Premier League which would give Everton the edge.
