Everton in for Porto's Brahimi

The 26-year-old has been linked with Arsenal in last few days but Sky Sports' sources claim that talks "have progressed well" between the Blues and the Portuguese club.

Convincing the player might be more of a challenge than getting Porto to sell one of their star players, however, with Sky's report suggesting he would favour a move to a club offering Champions League football.

Brahimi apparently rejected overtures from China this summer but he was left out of Porto's Champions League squad this past week, perhaps in anticipation of him moving on before the transfer deadline.
