Arsenal to grab Lucas Perez from under Everton's noses

Updated Reports in Spain suggest that The Emirates Stadium and not Goodison Park will be the destination for Deportivo La Coruà±a striker, Lucas Perez.

Everton appeared to be close to signing the striker following claims by local press in La Coruà±a that they had met the 27-year-old's release €20m clause and had tabled "juicy" personal terms for him in the region of £2m per year.

Radio Marca, echoed by a less definitive report by MailOnline, said, however, that Arsenal are prepared to follow up their year-long interest in the player by matching the Toffees' bid to Deportivo and tempting Lucas with Champions League football.

Now, multiple outlets, starting with La Voz De Galicia are reporting that Arsenal have indeed agreed an "amicable" €20m deal with Deportivo, with €6m of the fee to Lucas's former club, PAOK.

The player's agent insisted, however, that no deal had been done with the Gunners yet, with a source claiming their desire to pay the fee in installments could scupper their deal but it appears as though a second offer has now been accepted.

Meanwhile separate reports suggested that Valencia had entered the equation, making it a three-way battle between clubs who are all prepared to meet the £17m price that would trigger Lucas's sale.
