Blues up bids for Brahimi and Gabbiadini
Speculation in Portugal this past week has suggested that the Blues are the favourites to land Yacine Brahimi but A Bola, who carried the initial report, say that the €35m on offer from Goodison Park wouldn't have been enough to tempt FC Porto to part with the Algerian forward.
The Portuguese club only own 50% of Brahimi's economic rights and have therefore set their fee at €40m to ensure they get at least €20m from the deal and A Bola O Jogo are now reporting that Everton have met that asking price.
Meanwhile, Napoli have knocked back successive Everton bids of €22.5m and €23m bid for Manolo Gabbiadini whom they value at €25m according to reports in Italy.
Comments by the Serie A club's manager, Maurizio Sarri, from yesterday, however, would seem to indicate that a club — be that Everton or his other suitors, Fiorentina — could eventually agree a fee and that the ultimate decision will rest with the 24-year-old striker.
"[Manolo] must decide," Sarri is quoted as saying. "I advise him to stay but only if he's convinced. If not, take another path."
Since then, Sky Sports have indicated that according to their sources, talks are underway between Napoli and Everton over Gabbiadini.
