Everton eyeing January N'Zonzi swoop

Everton's quest for further midfield reinforcements in the next transfer window could lead them to Sevilla and a bid to bring Steven N'Zonzi back to the Premier League if a tabloid report has any substance.

The French-born player made his name in England with Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City before making a somewhat surprising move to Sevilla last year where he won the Europa League in his first season.

It's not the first time N'Zonzi has been linked with a switch to Goodison Park — both David Moyes and Roberto Martinez were credited with interest in the former France U21 international — but the Blues' failure to land Moussa Sissoko on transfer deadline day means that, assuming a claim in The Mirror is true, Steve Walsh and Ronald Koeman could revive their attempts to sign another central midfielder during the next window.

It could take in excess of €26.m to land him, however, if the Liga side insist on his release clause being activated.
