With James McCarthy battling successive injuries and Idrissa Gueye heading off on international duty for Senegal at he Africa Cup of Nations in January, Ronald Koeman has identified Bastian Schweinsteiger to add depth in midfield.
0 Comment That's the contention of the Daily Star today who suggest that Koeman wants to bring the veteran German international to Goodison Park for the second half of the season.
Schweinsteiger hasn't been able to hold down a first-team place at Manchester United but coming to a compromise arrangement over his huge £200,000-a-week salary would prove problematic if there is any substance to this Sunday tabloid story.
