Summer target Gabbiadini yet to sign new Napoli deal

Manolo Gabbiadini continues to be linked with a move to Everton after a proposed deal failed to materialise during the last transfer window.

With Ronald Koeman's reliance on Romelu Lukaku to score the team's goals readily apparent, speculation has resurfaced in the media in recent weeks regarding another attempt to sign Gabbiadini from Napoli even though his agent suggests the player turned down a move to Goodison Park.

The Blues were believed to have agreed a £23m deal for the forward in August but the deal collapsed when the Naples club backed away from negotiations.

Gabbiadini could yet have a change of heart, however, given that he has yet to put pen to paper on new terms at this current club.

“After refusing the offer from Everton, he was called to renew and adapt his contract by Cristiano Guintoli," his agent Silvio Pagliari told Rai Sport. "But now it's stopped, everything is frozen for now.”

It is unknown whether Everton's director of football, Steve Walsh, would still be interested in Gabbiadini.
